Patient, warm, one-to-one lessons that hold children's attention — with a colourful synchronized page that keeps young learners engaged far better than a Mushaf on a camera.
If you want the classic maktab pattern — the same teacher five evenings a week rather than an occasional lesson — see our online maktab, and the parent’s guide for age-by-age expectations and what the first month really looks like.
Children learn the Quran best with patience, warmth and clear visuals — and with a teacher whose full attention is on them. Maktab Quran's classes for kids are live and one-to-one, led by teachers who specialise in young learners, and built around a colourful synchronized page that keeps children focused far better than trying to read a Mushaf held up to a webcam.
Why children thrive in these classes
One-to-one attention — no waiting their turn in a crowded class; every minute is your child's lesson.
A page that lights up — the teacher highlights the exact letter or word, so your child always knows where to look.
Patient, specialised teachers who know how to encourage children and keep lessons positive.
Short, focused sessions that match a child's attention span.
Safe and supervised — parents can sit in, and lessons happen in a private one-to-one room.
The full journey, at your child's pace
Whatever stage your child is at, there is a path for them:
First letters with the Noorani Qaida — the Arabic alphabet, sounds and joining letters.
Fluent reading of the Quran with correct pronunciation.
Memorization with our structured Hifz program, including short surahs to begin.
Keeping young learners engaged
The hardest part of teaching children online is holding their attention. Our synchronized display turns the lesson into something children can follow with their eyes — the word they are reading glows, mistakes are gently marked, and the teacher keeps the momentum lively. Parents consistently notice their child stays focused for the whole lesson.
Parents are in control
You choose your child's teacher from our directory, including teachers who specialise in children and female teachers if you prefer. You can watch lessons, and with 5 live 30-minute classes a week your child builds a steady, healthy routine. Progress for logged-in students is saved so you can see how they are advancing.

There is no strict minimum — children can begin as soon as they can sit for a short lesson and follow along, typically from around age four or five. Our teachers adjust the pace and length to your child.
How do you keep my child engaged online?
The synchronized page highlights exactly what your child should be reading, turning the lesson into something visual and interactive. Combined with patient, specialised teachers and short one-to-one sessions, children stay focused far better than in a group or over an ordinary call.
Can I choose a female teacher for my daughter?
Yes. Many of our teachers specialise in teaching children and female students, and you can filter for them in the teacher directory.
Can I sit in on my child's lessons?
Absolutely. Lessons are private and one-to-one, and parents are welcome to supervise. We encourage parental involvement, especially for younger children.
Can my child learn to memorize the Quran too?
Yes. Children often begin memorizing short surahs early, and can follow our structured Hifz program with correct Tajweed from the start when they are ready.
