Learning the Quran in Hingoli
Hingoli is one of Maharashtra's smallest districts — carved out of Parbhani in 1999, with about 11.8 lakh people and only five talukas. In the Nizam era the town was a military base on the border with Vidarbha, and its Muslim community, about 1.3 lakh people at the 2011 Census or roughly one resident in nine, is old and settled.
Beyond Hingoli town, Basmath, Kalamnuri, Sengaon and Aundha Nagnath are small towns in farming country, and most families live in villages. A child who wants more than a basic local class — Tajweed taught properly, or Hifz — often has to travel to a bigger city for it.
Online lessons bring that teacher to the village. Five classes a week, thirty minutes each, with the same teacher following the child's progress, and nothing more needed than a phone.
Which talukas of Hingoli do you cover?
All of them. Lessons are online, so a family in any of Hingoli district's 5 talukas — Hingoli, Sengaon, Kalamnuri, Basmath and Aundha Nagnath — gets the same teachers, the same courses and the same class times, in town or village.
| Taluka | What to know |
|---|---|
| Hingoli | District headquarters; former Nizam military base. |
| Sengaon | Western taluka. |
| Kalamnuri | Eastern taluka towards Nanded. |
| Basmath | Largest town after Hingoli. |
| Aundha Nagnath | Temple town south-west of Hingoli. |
What happens after we contact you from Hingoli?
We reply within 24 hours and fix a free trial lesson at a time that suits you. At the trial the teacher listens to the student read, so the level is set correctly from the first class. If you have a preference — a woman teacher for your daughter, a teacher who speaks Urdu — tell us, and our office matches the teacher. Regular lessons then run five days a week, thirty minutes each, and the same teacher stays with the student.
Will my child understand the teacher?
Almost certainly. Our teachers explain in Urdu, Hindi or English, and they are used to children whose home language is something else. A child from Basmath who speaks Marathi at school and Dakhni or Urdu at home will usually be comfortable with an Urdu- or Hindi-speaking teacher. We do not have Marathi-speaking teachers yet. The free trial is the easy way to check.
Which course is right for my child?
It depends on where your child is today. Cannot read Arabic yet: the Noorani Qaida. Reads, but with mistakes: Tajweed. Reads well and wants to memorise: Hifz. Wants to understand: Tafsir or Quranic Arabic. You do not need to decide alone — the teacher assesses your child at the free trial. More on our Quran for kids page.
Are there female teachers for women and girls?
Yes — most of our teachers are women. Mothers and daughters in Hingoli can ask for a female teacher and learn at home, with no travel and no mixed setting. Many mothers take a quiet daytime slot for themselves while the children are at school. See our Quran classes for women.
What does it cost a family in Hingoli?
Most families start in the maktab circle at ₹1,000 a month — five live classes a week, never more than ten students. Families who want the whole lesson for one child choose one-to-one at ₹5,000 a month. There is no admission fee and you can stop any month. The first lesson is free. Compare them on one-to-one vs group classes.
How online compares with a local class
A local maktab: community, but fixed times, travel, and a few minutes of personal recitation. The maktab circle online: up to ten students, every one recites every class, no travel. One-to-one online: the whole thirty minutes for one student, at times that can move. Families in Hingoli choose by what their week allows. Compare them in one-to-one vs group classes.
