Learning the Quran in Parbhani
Parbhani has one of the highest Muslim shares in Marathwada — about 3.1 lakh people at the 2011 Census, one resident in six. The city's best-known landmark is the dargah of Hazrat Turabul Haq, whose annual festival draws lakhs of visitors, and like the rest of Marathwada the district was part of the Nizam's Hyderabad State until 1948.
Outside Parbhani city, the district is agricultural — Gangakhed, Pathri, Sailu, Jintur, Purna, Palam, Manwath and Sonpeth are market towns surrounded by villages. Dakhni Urdu is spoken at home by many families, and Urdu-medium schooling is common.
What an online lesson brings to a Parbhani family is consistency. The same teacher, five days a week, recording the child's progress so that the parent can see it — whether the family lives beside the dargah or in a village outside Jintur.
Which talukas of Parbhani do you cover?
All of them. Lessons are online, so a family in any of Parbhani district's 9 talukas — Parbhani, Sonpeth, Gangakhed, Palam, Purna, Sailu, Jintur, Manwath and Pathri — gets the same teachers, the same courses and the same class times, in town or village.
| Taluka | What to know |
|---|---|
| Parbhani | District headquarters; dargah of Hazrat Turabul Haq. |
| Gangakhed | Town on the Godavari. |
| Purna | Railway junction town. |
| Sailu | Western taluka on the Jalna side. |
| Jintur | Northern taluka. |
| Pathri | Historic town in the west of the district. |
From first message to first lesson in Parbhani
Starting takes three steps and usually a day or two. First, email us at info@maktab-quran.com or create a student account. Second, the student takes a free live trial lesson from home in Parbhani. Third, our office confirms the teacher — matched to the student's level and any preference you give us — and agrees the daily time. There are no registration fees and nothing to install.
Urdu, Hindi or English — and what about Marathi?
Every teacher lists the languages they teach in, and for most families in Parbhani Urdu or Hindi is the natural fit. English works well for children in English-medium schools. We have no Marathi-speaking teachers at present; a Marathi-medium child usually follows a Hindi-speaking teacher easily, and the teacher adapts their pace. Tell us the student's comfort language and our office matches the teacher to it.
What can a student in Parbhani learn?
Beginners start with the Noorani Qaida — letters, sounds and joins — and move on to reading the Quran directly. From there: Tajweed for correct pronunciation, a structured Hifz course built on the sabaq, sabqi and manzil cycle, Tafsir for understanding, and Quranic Arabic. See every course on the courses page.
Can my daughter learn with a woman teacher?
Yes. When you contact us, say you want a female teacher and our office matches your daughter with one. Most of our teachers are women, so this is the easiest preference we get. Lessons are at home, on a phone, with no travel — which is often what makes regular classes possible for girls and women in Parbhani. More on classes for women.
Fees in rupees
The maktab circle costs ₹1,000 a month for five live classes a week in a group capped at ten, where every student recites and is corrected in every class. One-to-one costs ₹5,000 a month for the same five classes with a teacher of your own. Both include the parent dashboard. Fees are arranged month to month by email. See affordable Quran classes.
Online classes or the local maktab?
If there is a good maktab near you in Parbhani, keep it — the community of a masjid class cannot be replaced. What an online lesson adds is personal time: in a local class of thirty children a child may recite for two minutes; online, a one-to-one student recites for thirty. Many families use both. Where there is no maktab nearby, or the timing does not work, an online maktab keeps the daily routine going.
