Learning the Quran in Gondia
Gondia, carved out of Bhandara in 1999, sits in Maharashtra's far north-east on the borders of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It is known for its rice mills, and its Muslim community is small — about 26,000 people at the 2011 Census, around two residents in a hundred — mainly in Gondia town, Tiroda, Amgaon and Goregaon.
In a district like this, a family that wants proper Tajweed or Hifz for a child often finds that no local teacher offers it. The alternative has usually been sending the child away.
Online lessons let the child stay home. A qualified teacher, five classes a week, and a parent dashboard to follow progress — all on a phone.
Which talukas of Gondia do you cover?
All of them. Lessons are online, so a family in any of Gondia district's 8 talukas — Gondia, Goregaon, Salekasa, Tiroda, Amgaon, Deori, Arjuni-Morgaon and Sadak-Arjuni — gets the same teachers, the same courses and the same class times, in town or village.
| Taluka | What to know |
|---|---|
| Gondia | District headquarters and rice-milling town. |
| Goregaon | Northern taluka. |
| Tiroda | Western taluka. |
| Amgaon | Eastern taluka. |
From first message to first lesson in Gondia
Starting takes three steps and usually a day or two. First, email us at info@maktab-quran.com or create a student account. Second, the student takes a free live trial lesson from home in Gondia. Third, our office confirms the teacher — matched to the student's level and any preference you give us — and agrees the daily time. There are no registration fees and nothing to install.
Will my child understand the teacher?
Almost certainly. Our teachers explain in Urdu, Hindi or English, and they are used to children whose home language is something else. A child from Tiroda who speaks Marathi at school and Dakhni or Urdu at home will usually be comfortable with an Urdu- or Hindi-speaking teacher. We do not have Marathi-speaking teachers yet. The free trial is the easy way to check.
From the Qaida to memorising the Quran
The path is the traditional maktab path, taught one student at a time: the Noorani Qaida, then reading the Quran with Tajweed, then — for those who want it — Hifz, with a daily sabaq, the recent portion revised as sabqi and older portions as manzil. Tafsir and Quranic Arabic are there for students who want to understand what they recite.
Women teachers for women students
A female student in Gondia can always ask for a female teacher, and most of our teachers are women. Lessons are private and at home, on a synchronized Quran screen, so there is no travel and no mixed class. Mothers often start alongside their children. See Quran classes for women.
How much do online Quran classes cost in Gondia?
Two plans, each with five live 30-minute classes a week: the maktab circle, a small class of never more than ten students, at ₹1,000 a month — about ₹50 a class — and one-to-one with your own teacher at ₹5,000 a month. No registration fee, cancel any month, free trial first. Details on the pricing page.
How online compares with a local class
A local maktab: community, but fixed times, travel, and a few minutes of personal recitation. The maktab circle online: up to ten students, every one recites every class, no travel. One-to-one online: the whole thirty minutes for one student, at times that can move. Families in Gondia choose by what their week allows. Compare them in one-to-one vs group classes.
